LINGLESTOWN CHEERLEADING 2008

 

The Linglestown Football Association welcomes all new and returning cheerleaders. We are looking forward to a great season.

As the new season begins, I know that many questions exist. This message intends to help answer any questions you may have. Also, the LFA website (linglestownfootball.org) is a great place to go for updated information.

 

Registration:

Dates for Cheerleading sign-ups for the 2008 season have been set. Registration will be held on Saturday, July 12^th and 19^th 2008 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Koons Park. Registration forms are available on line. (Registration Forms)

 

Squad Breakdowns:

        Smurf                Kindergarten & 1^st grade

        PeeWee     1^st, 2^nd & 3^rd grades

        Pony         4^th & 5^th grades

        Midget       6^th, 7^th & 8^th grades

The cheerleader must be entering these grades in the upcoming school year (2008-2009)

 

Squads:

• Girls can choose to cheer on Saturdays for JV games or Sundays for Varsity games.
• Varsity cheerleaders will cheer home and away. The Varsity schedule is out now on our website (Varsity Schedule).
• All JV cheering will be done at home games (Koon’s Park) only. The JV schedule won’t be out until the end of August.
• JV games will start on Saturday, August 30 and continue every Saturday. The last scheduled JV game will be Saturday, October 11.
• Game times for all squads will vary from week to week.
• All squads will practice together at the same levels and learn the same cheers.
• All squads will have a hello cheer and dance routine which will be performed during Parent’s Day.
• There will be co competition squad this season.

 

Coaching:

• All squads will have one coach and two adult advisors.

Uniform:

• All girls will be issued a uniform to be worn to games only.
• This season we will ask parents to purchase white sneakers for their daughters to wear. They can be any brand, just so they are all white.

• We have a limited number of warm up suits that will be given out by squad.
• If your daughter does not receive one, she will be provided with sweatpants and a sweatshirt to wear to games.
• These must all be returned when the season is over and should be worn for LFA games only.

 

Practices:

GO! GO! GO! COLTS!

You heard it – Now shout it…  The Cheerleading Season is starting…

 

Practice will begin Monday, August 4 2008!

• Until school starts, practice will be on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• After school starts practices will be Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Practice will be at Koon’s Park, Linglestown, behind the Volleyball Courts.

 

Practice Dress Code:

• Please have your daughter wear shorts, t-shirt and sneakers to all practices.

 

Games

Saturday   
games start with the PeeWee JV squad at 9:00am, then approximately every hour and a half thereafter, the next game will begin with the girls from the respective squads cheering. The JV schedule won’t be out until the end of August.

Sunday     
games start with the Varsity PeeWee squad at 1:00pm, then approximately every hour and a half thereafter, the next game will begin with the girls from the respective squads cheering. Varsity schedule is out now on our website (Varsity Schedule).
